Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)

The New Jersey Low-Income Home Energy Assistance is a government assistance program designed to lower the cost of home energy bills. The program is open to low-income renters and homeowners who cannot afford to pay energy bills. This Program is administered by the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs (NJDCA).

Universal Service Funds (USF)

The New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (BPU) has created the Universal Service Fund (USF) program to help make electric and natural gas bills more affordable. Moderate to low-income households can take advantage of the monthly credits provided by USF.

Please note that only one application is required to qualify for both LIHEAP and USF benefits.
